True Discernment

There has been something very disturbing going on for quite a while that not many within Christian circles seem to have noticed, recognized or accepted, and that is the starvation and death of the local Church!

While technology can be a very useful tool for spreading the gospel, it can also be misused which can have devastating effects!

There is a famous saying: “The tyranny of good intentions”

Many well-meaning Christians have latched onto technology to gain a national and international audience for their teachings, music, methods etc however what this has led to is people in large numbers ignoring and shunning local churches, and those small churches slowly being starved of support, and the only way that they can survive is to identify themselves with national & internationally well known, preachers, teaching methods, music etc!

And it is not just technology that is killing the local church, it is Corporate America!

Yes good old Capitalistic Corporate America is destroying the local church! Its marketing methods have pulled people to specific brands, to specific ideas, and in the process it has destroyed local American life.

American Christianity has unfortunately latched onto Corporate America’s marketing methods, and through print and electronic media it has directed a large majority of American Christians to specific preachers, Christian music, Evangelists, and so called Prophets! This has also extended to church teaching materials and methods, how many Vacation Bible Schools have you seen that use a well-known theme to attempt to attract children to  their Vacation Bible School? How many denominations have accepted nationally known methods for Sunday School Education?

Americans have become so ingrained with modern marketing methods and large corporate advertising methods that for the most part we have lost the understanding of the danger that this poses to Christianity itself!

Large Corporate Christianity REMOVES the ability for there to broad based oversight and accountability of what is taught! Because every organization that is involved in Mega Ministries, Christian publishing, music etc are either Publicly listed corporations, or large 501c3 non-profit organizations,  where a business board is more important than a board of Elders, and  more concerned with managing the revenue stream to either ensure a certain level of profits, and stock dividends, or enough revenue to cover the overhead costs of a large and growing non-profit organization, than holding to Biblical truth. Broaden what you accept to reach a larger audience, and in the process the Biblical message is watered down.

Also as a larger percentage of Christianity is “managed” by fewer mega organizations that control the communication channels for distributing books, music, videos, teaching methods,  etc, and the “cost of entry” for anyone else wanting to reach large numbers of Christians across the U.S. or globally becomes prohibitively expensive!

While the internet moderated that somewhat for a little while, now even the internet is becoming closed off to small ministries, as internet companies like youtube and others are being bought up by large corporations who restrict what they allow to be posted to their websites!  And Americans have become virtually brainwashed into believing that unless something is backed by a huge marketing campaign and organization and looks polished then it is not worth paying attention to.

What this is doing to Christians themselves is very destructive and I believe will eventually lead to the vast majority of Christians following the false Church!

Modern marketing methods give people an appetite that can never be filled! It appeals to their felt needs and then directs those felt needs to purchasing specific items, or listening to specific people!

We are on the very doorstep of the final Anti-Christ empire and American Christianity for the most part has been primed and ready to accept it and to walk away from Biblical Truth!

American Christianity has become a closed national and international fraternity! you are either in, which means you ascribe to or are endorsed and promoted by large mega ministries, music, publishing, or media companies, or you are not in! And if you are not in, it means you are not heard, Truth withers, and your ministry starves!

Secondly the internet while it is utilized by large corporations to capitalize on national and internationally marketed, products, ideologies, and people, it also allows individuals to operate without any oversight, this is a clear danger to Christians, as it allows them to be overly independent and critical of anyone or anything that does not either agree or align with well-known ideologies (we have all heard about trending topics) or people!

It also allows people to be overly specific and overly critical of ideas or people who do not agree with their own! While allowing themselves anonymity in what THEY themselves do!

We have a generation now that relies for virtually all of its information and knowledge from what they get from the internet, and they are hardened into believing that because they have the ability to give their opinion no matter what that opinion is on; Facebook, Twitter etc, that no one can tell them that they should not express it, or that they should exercise restraint!

Biblical Christianity is based in personal witnessing, personal relationships, and personal accountability, our current over reliance and near addiction to technology is destroying that.

We are not that far off from the point where it will be considered “abnormal” if your life does not revolve around the internet! It will seem abnormal and mentally unbalanced if you do not accept being permanently affixed to it and accepting of whatever is sent your way!

Is there anything ELSE people need to look for to see the Anti-Christ coming so that they can escape him? You need not look for a microchip under the skin, an abstract micro-chip is already being implanted in your brain!
