“After this I saw in the night visions, and behold, a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, exceedingly strong. It had huge iron teeth; it was devouring, breaking in pieces, and trampling the residue with its feet. It was different from all the beasts that were before it, and it had ten horns. I was considering the horns, and there was another horn, a little one, coming up among them, before whom three of the first horns were plucked out by the roots. And there, in this horn, were eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking pompous words. – Daniel 7:7,8
Rome was the foundation for the fourth beast. If you read Edward Gibbons “Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire” you will see the disturbing parallels between Rome and all modern empires since then including the U.S. The essay below details how the U.S. is moving from an egalitarian Democratic Republic to a Tyrannical rule by force!
You see this creeping tyranny every day, as the rhetoric between the seemingly two opposing political ideologies (Capitalism & Socialism) gets ever more heated and violent. This occurred in the Roman empire as well. As the two philosophical ideologies of Stoicism and Epicureanism continually clashed.
As the average Roman citizen became landless, dependent upon government social support & interested only in physical pleasure, drinking and games. The ruling elite became richer, more powerful and thinking themselves above the law. This decay continued until almost total anarchy prevailed, then came Augustus Caesar who in exchange for dictatorial power promised to end the anarchy, the abuses of the rich, and the restoration of order under the guise of the traditional institutions & values, which he did, however he stripped them of power and introduced a Tyranny that in the process destroyed the democratic republic, the tyranny of the Roman Emperors then persisted until the fall of the Roman Empire.
And likewise in the U.S. today we see an erosion of the wealth of the middle class, their moral degradation, growing dependence on social handouts from the government, on physical pleasure, drinking, and games. While a small & rich ruling Elite become ever more powerful at the expense of the middle class, having open disdain for the common man, able to flout the laws of the land, and their creation of institutions for control by manipulation of the middle class & domestic population as a whole.
We are not far off from seeing growing elements of anarchy ensue in our country as the differences between the two opposing political ideologies becomes more polarized & heated, along with the growing loss of political power & wealth of the middle class. Eventually the anarchy and social disintegration will become so extreme that people will yearn for the re-establishment of order at ANY cost and they will be ready to give up virtually all of their liberties to obtain this.
Then someone powerful and charismatic will come on the scene promising “Peace & Safety” , the reigning in of the power & wealth of the ruling elite, along with a restoration of traditional institutions, culture & values, this person will say to achieve this means the bringing out into the open, forceful control of the population and a complete loss of individual liberties. This in contrast to what we are already seeing being done behind the scenes, today: greater control by manipulation of the population by a small rich ruling elite. When this person comes into power it will mark the formal end of the U.S. as an egalitarian Democratic Republic, and will herald the beginning of tyrannical rule in the name of traditional values.

from The Asia Pacific Journal:
I know the capacity that is there to make tyranny total in America, and we must see to it that this agency [the National Security Agency] and all agencies that possess this technology operate within the law and under proper supervision, so that we never cross over that abyss. That is the abyss from which there is no return.”
— Senator Frank Church (1975)
In recent years I have become more and more concerned with the interactions between three important and alarming trends in recent American history. The first is America’s increasing militarization, and above all its inclination, even obsession, to involve itself in needless and pernicious wars. The second, closely related, is the progressive shrinking of public politics and the rule of law as they are subordinated, even domestically, to the requirements of covert U.S. operations abroad.
The third, also closely related, is the important and increasingly deleterious impact on American history and the global extension of American power, of what I have called deep events. These events, like the JFK assassination, the Watergate break-in, or 9/11, which repeatedly involve law-breaking or violence, are mysterious to begin with, are embedded in ongoing covert processes, have consequences that enlarge covert government, and are subsequently covered up by systematic falsifications in media and internal government records.
One factor linking Dallas, Watergate, and 9/11, has been the involvement in all three deep events of personnel involved in America’s highest-level emergency planning, known since the 1980s as Continuity of Government (COG) planning, or more colloquially as “the Doomsday Project.” The implementation of COG plans on 9/11, or what I call Doomsday Power, was the culmination of three decades of such planning, and has resulted in the permanent militarization of the domestic United States, and the imposition at home of institutions and processes designed for domination abroad.
Writing about these deep events as they occurred over the decades, I have been interested in the interrelations among them. It is now possible to show how each was related both to those preceding it, and those which followed.
I would like in this essay to go further and propose a framework to analyze the on-going forces underlying all of the most important deep events, and how they have contributed to the political ascendance of what used to be called the military-industrial complex. I hope to describe certain impersonal governing laws that determine the socio-dynamics of all large-scale societies (often called empires) that deploy their surplus of power to expand beyond their own borders and force their will on other peoples. This process of expansion generates predictable trends of behavior in the institutions of all such societies, and also in the individuals competing for advancement in those institutions. In America it has converted the military-industrial complex from a threat at the margins of the established civil order, to a pervasive force dominating that order. . . . .
