I can hardly bear to listen to contemporary Christian radio anymore.
In our area we get a nationwide station called K-Love. Their motto is “Positive, encouraging, K-Love.” K-Love is just one of many contemporary Christian radio stations touting their positive message and music to the Christian market in America. And our people can’t seem to get enough.
But I find these stations anything but positive and encouraging. In fact, I’ve changed the motto of our local station to “Positively discouraging K-Love.” (And my kids hate it when I do that.)
But why? I am a Christian after all (though some of you are doubting me at this point).
Maybe I’m just one of those who think drums are sinful, or guitars are from the Devil. Nope. Not me. God cares about the content of the music, not the sounds of the instruments.
No, my concerns are much deeper than the sounds from the stage. My concerns are ultimately rooted in God’s Word and a loving concern for the future of the church in our land.
What’s wrong?
Let me first say I am thankful for Christian music and radio. I acknowledge the good these artists and stations do for their communities and the church. The only music my children can listen to is Christian music, and most of that comes from Christian radio.
But that doesn’t mean it’s all God calls it to be. In my view, there are two central problems with Christian music today, both centering on its content. Firstly, its exclusive focus on a ‘positive-only’ message is not biblical. And, secondly, the theological make-up of the songs themselves is far below the standards of Scripture.
Is being exclusively positive God-honoring?
The sentiment—to be a source of good news instead of the constant stream of bad news from the secular media—is admirable and appreciated. But we have to ask ourselves is this positive-only dogma really what Christ demands of us?
While we are always to be thankful for what God has done for us, and for His nature and promises, we cannot leave out the negative aspects of His Word to us. We cannot be positive-only when our people (the church in America) are in such open rebellion against God.
Where’s the proof?
What is the evidence of this rebellion you ask? Here are just a few of our more noticeable transgressions:
- We have abandoned the Great Commission within our borders. The average Christian hasn’t shared the gospel in years, if ever.
- We approve of patently evil acts, such as homosexuality, and even ordain those who practice these sins.
- We have given up the exclusivity of Christ in favor of multiple “paths” to God.
- We are full of apathy and self-centeredness, to the detriment to the kingdom of Christ.
- We are worldly and sensual, full of sexual lust, adultery, and pornography.
- We have compromised the Word of God on the altar of science, political correctness, and church ‘growth’.
- We misrepresent the nature and character of God by emphasizing only His love, but not His justice, holiness, wrath, and law.
The signs of God’s judgment on His people are everywhere. Think of the power of our enemies, like those in the homosexual movement. Note the number of our churches that are dying (80-85%) or the number of youth leaving (75-90%). And ask yourself, is our nation really favored by God? Wars and rumors of wars. Massive debt. Political infighting. Unemployment. Fires. Floods. Drought.
We’re too blind to see
God sent judgments on His people in Old Testament times as well, but they were just as blind as we are. We raise our hands high on Sunday morning as if God is so happy with us He could bust, while all along the evidence suggests otherwise.
After the people were “plundered and looted,” they still didn’t get it. “You have seen many things,” the Lord said, “but have paid no attention; your ears are open, but you hear nothing” (Isaiah 42:20).
Are you blind and deaf too?
Shallow content
There are two sides to this coin. First, the content that is delivered is at a first grade spiritual level.
Listen to the lyrics. How many times can we hear the same trite expressions? “Until the whole world hears.” Never heard that one before. “Jesus saves.” While true, is that as deep as we can go?
Read the words on the screen on Sunday morning. Are you bored yet? Getting any deep insight into the nature of God, life, or the Word?
This skin deep lyrical content is a reflection of the biblical knowledge level of not only the musician, but also, by extension, the average believer. In America today, Christians don’t read the Word. We don’t know it, and we don’t really care.
We’re here to live the “great” Christian life, have “great” worship, and feel “great” about ourselves. As one Christian artist put it, we’re interested in something “more like falling in love, than something to believe in.” We’re certainly getting that.
This kind of shallow understanding is condemned by God. “In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again” (Hebrews 5:11-12).
What’s not there is worse
But it isn’t just the content that’s there that is the problem. It’s what isn’t there.
Here are some things you’ll rarely hear on the radio:
- An acknowledgment and condemnation of sin, whether inside the church our out.
- The fearful judgment to come, including the doctrine of a physical hell.
- The need for contrite repentance to enter the kingdom of God.
- The cost of following Christ, including complete abandonment to self and possible martyrdom.
- The true place of suffering in the Christian life.
- Non-politically correct issues: Homosexuality, false religions like Mormonism, Catholicism, and Islam, and most of the other items on this list.
We reinforce childish knowledge and unbiblical concepts with more of our manmade, earthly wisdom. Then we lead people to misery and apostasy when our shallow teachings don’t play out in real life.
Both come from the pulpit
Ultimately, the shallowness we see is a reflection of wimpy, ignorant pulpits. The average pastor is a religious shrink, pundit, and comic all rolled into one. His sermons are superficial, unstudied, and biblically empty. He never condemns anybody or anything. He’s there to “love” you and give you a better week, not proclaim the strong Word of God to you.
Once I was applying to become a church planter. I had to go out to the coast to be interviewed by a pastor of a mega-church. While I was waiting for the interview to start, I noticed all the great books he had on the shelves in his office (commentaries, books on theology, biblical dictionaries). After I complimented him on them, he said, “Oh, I don’t use those much anymore.”
You don’t need to when you preach “Three ways to have a better whatever” every Sunday like most do today.
God condemns teachers like these. Paul said, “For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear” (2 Timothy 4:1-4).
Unwitting False Prophets
It is in this last sense that contemporary Christian music, and the cosmetic pastors behind it, find their ultimate condemnation. They are false prophets. [1] Unwitting in some cases, yes. But false prophets nonetheless.
A common trait of the false prophet is to tell the people everything is okay when it isn’t.
But I said, “Ah, Sovereign Lord, the prophets keep telling them, ‘You will not see the sword or suffer famine. Indeed, I will give lasting peace in this place.’” Then the Lord said to me, “The prophets prophesy likes in my name. I have not sent them or appointed them or spoke to them. They are prophesying to you false visions, divinations, idolatries, and the delusions of their own minds” (Jeremiah 14:13-14).
Whether it’s you and me individually, organized groups such as bands and radio stations, or pastors in the pulpits, the end is the same—our prophesies (that all is well), our ministries, and the people taken in by our lies, ultimately will be brought to nothing.
The Lord goes on in Jeremiah 14: “Those same prophets will perish by sword and famine. And the people they are prophesying to will be thrown out into the streets of Jerusalem because of the famine and sword” (15-16).
What’s really positive and encouraging
Do you want to hear something positive and encouraging from a biblical perspective? Repent of your sins, church. Rid yourself of shallow teachers and shallow lives. Teach the whole counsel of God. Call out sin in your congregations and in the culture at large. Take on the politically incorrect issues of our time. Forsake church growth through compromise and the “all-is-well” marketing campaigns of the Evil One.
Do these things and you’ll be positive and encouraging in the eyes of our Maker and Judge, God.
I agree with most of this post.
I currently work as a church secretary with/for an extremely worldly and self centered Pastor. His sermons are extremely superficial and lack any coherent thought, let alone the gospel message.
Interestingly, he recently shared that he hates to read and that he gets his ‘inspiration’ from K-Love…huh, go figure.
I heartily agree that most Christian radio is pathetic. I don’t know where you live in the US, but I listen to and have been incredibly blessed by BBN Radio (strictly listener supported). They are accessible via internet as well. They don’t have commercials, and, while they aren’t perfect (they do air Chuck Swindoll and Ravi Zacharius who are going contemplative – this irritates me to no end), their broadcasts are superior, particularly one called “Conference Pulpit” which features a different speaker each week – usually of bygone preachers like Maj. Ian Thomas (who just happens to be on this week), Donald Barnhouse, A.W. Tozer, Alan Redpath, Vance Havner, and the list goes on…
The only turn-off for most people might be their choice of music, as they play very conservative hymns and songs from the past. Rarely a drum or electric guitar heard here. Frankly, I prefer it that way. I find that it restores and calms my busy mind, replacing those anxieties with lovely melodies of praise and worship.
****
My heart aches for you, Laura.
Working five days a week for this flake, I sure hope you don’t endure him on Sundays, too.
You’d probably be better off working with a temporary agency, spreading salt and light where ever your assignments take you.
Yes, Christianity is a farce today in the west, its horribly sad. I believe true believers should separate from all this nonsense.
In Jesus who comes back as a lion,
Martin
what ever happened to to way they were writing songs in the 80s, 90s, 2000-06 when Christian music meant something. Today they sing Christian songs without using Jesus and other bible words in the lyrics. I used to go to creation festival back in 99-2006. since 2006 it has went down hill.
I can agree on most of the opinions of this blogger, and certanly am heart broke, and convicted about the shape of the church today. I am not schooled in higher education ,theology or music however God has called me to dig in and get dirty proclaiming the gospel and I am still fairly clean I supose k-love does serve a purpose and is definetly better than the alternative however I do not see much differance between the world and the church when it comes to music . the church I attend is a great place for grass roots taeching and am veary happy to serve in the worship ministry and would agree most ccm is waterd down and is lacking deep spiritual thought I pray that we all repent and get busey working for Christ in these last days
Yes, there is a very serious problem with Christian radio/TV. Where should I start?. Many Christian radio stations are only concerned for the money, not the cardinal teachings of the Historic Christian faith. I could give many, many examples. Many Christian stations are airing anti-Trinitarian ministries, some are airing anti-Deity of Christ ministries, some air off-shoots of Herbert W. Armstrong, and so on. One station in ARK, is airing 5 anti-Trinitarian ministries, that attack the Holy Trinity. This station is also airing the anti-Deity of Christ ministry of Roy Masters. They simply do not care. One program they are airing “Born To Win”, has now been cancelled from 24 Christian stations. The former GM told me that these unorthodox ministries are not much different than the other Evangelical ministries that air. What a real shame. My concern is that by airing programs of organizations, when examined more closely are actually unorthodox, people are deceived. This deception is enhanced when programs to promote their ministry are placed among well-known Evangelical ministers and ministries.
There is a relationship of trust between Christians and Christian radio/TV that the programs they air are produced by groups that at least meet the basic criteria of orthodoxy. Otherwise, we will soon have more Armstrong groups, Jehovah’s Witneddes, and other unorthodox organizations using Christian stations to draw unspecting listeners into their folds. FYI I know of Christian Gospel artists who deny the Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, and attack the Holy Trinity. One artist has 8 Dove awards, has written over 300 Gospel songs, many of them well-known. This artist has released his 2nd book attacking the Deity of Christ. He has tapes attacking these 2 cardinal teachings of the Christian faith, and I noe see his material on 4 anti-Deity of Christ sites. He attends and speaks at conferences attacking these teachings. I saw his first book “Glory To God In The Highest”, on the anti-Deity of Christ,- – anti-Trinitarian,- – anti-hell Atlanta Bible College, whic has also confused many Christians. How one can deny/attack the Deity of the Savour you sing about, is a real shame.
James, what is the name of the artist you mentioned? This is a lat response, but I just found this post. Thank you.
The problem with K-love and others like it is simple….
The disk jockies and much of the message in the songs give you the impression that one can know God apart from the Word of God.
KLOVE is a joke. They have a bunch of overpaid senior executives with little Board oversight. They take expensive junkets and pay themselves big bonuses. Find another 501(c)(3) to give your money to.
Christian radio stations are sometimes overly positive then again they aren only a part of the body of christ. They have a specific goal. Ultimately Christians themeselves need to stand up and preach the word of God to others. But they can’t preach or teach it if they don’t read it. No minstry is perfect. But we shouldn’t let that be an excuse to not to mature in Christ.
Couldn’t have said any better. This literally got me teary and all glory to God! I realized my Slavic community brother and sisters aren’t the only God fearing people,
I agree .
I recently tried to get someone from klove to tell where to find this sinners prayer they save people with that call in on the radio days have went by and I can’t get an answer .No biblical proof
[…] TV and sports, to going to the movie theater, to going to concerts. Listening to heretic music and heretic music stations. Reading heretic books. Many being indoctrinated at public schools and […]
Thank you for writing this message! My heart was so grieved when I was listening to a local worldly Christian radio station recently. There are very few that are genuine and real and really want to proclaim the real gospel message. I did find a local gospel music radio station that I like now. I just won’t listen to that other worldly Christian radio station anymore. What made me sad and I’m sure what grieved the Holy Spirit was when I heard the worldly Christian radio station DJ advise the audience to “forgive your enemies, and watch God do his magic.” Magic???? They were calling the work of the Holy Spirit magic!!!! Just horrible. My heart was grieved because the Holy Spirit was grieved. I called them and told them what I thought, and asked them to pass the message on to the manager of the radio station. I’m not going to listen to that station anymore… Life is too short.
This is a question everyone must answer. If you the person reading this were to die today and you get up to Heavens gate and Jesus looks at you and asks “why should I let you into heaven?” What would you say?
Please try to answer that honestly first.
k-love intentionally never mentions the Gospel or if they do they never define it.. how can you preach a false gospel such as positive living when Rom 3:10 says (As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one) and Matt 7:14 (…strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.)
What is the Gospel? What is Justification? Few can give a biblical answer to these questions that I go to church with…
What is the Good News? What’s the Bad News? Paul is happy to tell you in Romans but I wanted to quickly go over it for the people who don’t know. This is the most loving thing I could do for the sheep that are lost.
The bad news is Rom 3:23 (for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God) and Rom 3:10 (as it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one) and Rom 6:23 ( for the wages of sin is death..)
The Gospel is the Good News! John 3:16 (For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.) Rom 10:13 (For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.) Rom 10:9 (That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.) Rom 6:23 (but the gift of God is Eternal Life through Christ Jesus our Lord)
You need the right Jesus from the bible. You Need to understand 2 John 1:7 (…many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.) and John 1:1-4 (In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2The same was in the beginning with God. 3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.) And (..the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth) John 1:14.
need to understand that You Need to make Jesus the God AND Lord over your entire life and That Jesus’ payment in full with his own blood on the cross is the ONLY way to Everlasting Life with God in Heaven. Turn or Burn my fellow souls and trust that Jesus is more than enough for salvation and you will be saved! I guess k-love assumes every listener knew this though.. If they loved you truly, they would tell the gospel on that radio until they lost their voice.. With love -kip
Thank you so much for this article. It has really helped me with an issue that I have been struggling with which initially started with my Pastor and church family. There is this well known Pastor who preaches positivity and encouragement and I really enjoy listening to him. So at bible study one night there was a discussion about preachers only preaching encouraging and uplifting messages. I ask my Pastor how he felt about this certain preacher and he advised me that he wouldn’t be listening to him and the rest of the people that were there that night agreed. I was a little upset and a bit confused. So when I was listening to K Love the other day and I heard the lady say they always played only encouraging and positive music, I remembered that night at bible study and I wondered if any of my church family listen to this radio station and if these situations are somewhat the same. Maybe I’ll mention this to them just to see if they even realize what K Love is really all about. I would hope the Pastor would advise all of us to find another radio station if this is the station we have been listening to. I just want to say I love the older hymns myself. I feel like we should all keep each other in prayer and we will allow God to lead and guide us in the way we should go and not rely on other people and their opinions. After all God is the only one who knows and sees all.
What a sound post I’ve recently been going through the ringer I’m 18 and about to start an adult life and I see everything around me there is no heart there’s no love faith is practically dead and I’ve always been of the stay positive mentality until I started thinking deeper talking with God trying to figure out what’s wrong and that’s because the faith is watered down crap but I jist believe that he is Lord he is bigger then all thing’s he is the true God and it will be okay but thank you so much for opening my eyes to this.
While i may agree with your attitude and venture forth with the acceptance of your views, but sad to say, most people who “claim” to be Christians do not want the whole bible. Just the parts that fit and most just want to do just enough, to squeak by. I’ll go to church on Sunday and might pay my tithe, watch a joyce meyers episode” she is the lesser of them, most of these new age evangelist” and rock out to k love s 20 songs…sad to say, we are saved by faith, but repentance and actually doing what God and Christ command is what makes us true believers. The great commandments and Commission…not listening to others views and “relationship” with God. Yes it serves its purpose and its better than rap or rock or whatever…but a real realtionship with God comes from studying His word and following the Spirit Christ left us with.
That was an excellent post. You speak the truth. Don’t forget about the heretics, whose music they play. Hillsong United is the money machine for the big, NAR prosperity church in Australia. KLOVE plays their music and sent listeners to one of their conferences recently. How scary is that – naive Christians who don’t know the Word of God, exposed to that trash! And I just discovered that Phillips, Craig and Dean are oneness pentacostals, who deny the Trinity. I can never sing “You Are God Alone” again; their heresy would distract me. Just a couple more reasons to supervise the kids when the radio is on. Thanks for the truly excellent content. Not everyone has lost their minds! As for the other well thoughtout posts I’ve read here: thank God for you guys! You are not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ!!
In Christ’s love,
Merilee
Many( not all) Christian radio stations/TV really only care “If the check clears the bank” Read my post from May 11, 2011 above. One Christian Radio Network, SALEM airs a number of anti-Trinitarian cult organizations. Why is this? One of the anti-Trinitarian speakers, a former Baptist, airs on many stations owned by FaithRadio.US. This Christian Network, requires all who air to be in agreement with their “statement of faith” Why is this individual airing? American Christian Network states “The finest Christian Bible teachers and leaders in the world are all on ACN” Really” They air anti-Trinitarians… Just because Christian radio/TV have these kinds of statements, do not necessary mean it’s true!
Dead on a member of my church has left the church due to the fact she heard
Something on Klove and said our pastor was judgmental which is false he teaches the Bible I may disagree with him on Prophecy but as far as him teaching the Bible he is dead on
You hit the nail right on the head. At first K love was something you put up with because there’s really not that much in terms of Christian stations here. But now it’s almost to the point of unbearable at times I feel like I’m listening to a Joel olsteen sermon. They go on and on about feeling “good” but never touch on God and his doctrines and commands except for the measly “God loves you”. It’s so shallow and skin deep. If anyone lives near the ct ny area , I highly reccomend AM 570 they have really good No nonsense bible based preachers that really edify.
AM 570, if I am correct is a SALEM Christian radio station. Be sure who you listen to and support, hold to the cardinal teachings of the Christian faith. Sadly SALEM airs a number of anti-Trinitarian cults. One example is from their station in Phoenix. You can read what this speaker thinks of himself (Below). Bishop Luke, denies and attacks the Trinity. He states it is “PAGAN” He actually believes it is of “SATAN” He denies the Eternal Sonship of Christ. He denies that Jesus is the Son of God now in Heaven, and denies he is physical in Heaven as well. He teaches that “The Son of God did not rise from the dead” Would he state these things over SALEM Family Values Radio? I Wonder?

Thank you for this article. I was only saved a few years ago but I was taught many things about Jesus and the Christian faith in a short amount of time. I’m grateful for that but I’ve been finding it’s hard now to find teachers, pastors and Christians who teach sound biblical doctrine, profound truths about God and live it out in their daily lives. I’ve seen in my short time as a Christian how shallow and worldly the church in America is. It’s really been affecting me and bringing confusion to what walking with God is supposed to look like because I don’t see other Christians walking the way scripture says to. I actually typed in Google “why doesn’t Christian radio talk about Jesus” and your article was first on the list. I’m glad to know it’s not just me because no one I personally know has ever mentioned how these radio stations talk about worldly things and how the music is devoid of deep revelation of God. I have k-love in my area too and I think the most ridiculous thing they do is the “k-love fan awards”. When I heard about that I really wondered why a Christian radio station would hold an awards show. Anyways, thank you for standing up and speaking out.
I’ve been listening to klove for a few months now I think it just got to LA or maybe I was just too lost in the world. But anyway as much as I want to continue loving klove …. as I seek a deeper relationship with God, and the more I read into scripture , the more I spend my time in prayer …. the more I can’t stand klove. And that’s is how I came to this post, I was concerned that i wouldn’t find anything on the topic. I’m so happy I did, I’m not the only one!
I can breathe again.
I was beginning to think something was wrong with me, but once again I cannot be deceived as long as I remain seeking truth.
My current pastor is in the process of retirement , and I am sad… because his sermons and advice were always filled with truth, love, and you could tell they were meditated on in prayer and guided by the Holy Spirit.
Thank you so much for posting!
God bless you!
My question is why do they play secular music ever? It’s hard enough to sort through what tunes are based on the Word of God. Music and SOME extremely popular Christian artists have quickly become idols.
I agree with your article . They have no backbone . I have also grown tired of the diluted word of God .
The guys in the work truck listen to K-Love every day. I believe in Jesus, but I really don’t care much for the station at all. Aside from the fact that musically the plethora of “God-pop” is just vomit-inducing, there is no musical or lyrical, creativity to the music whether or not the Gospel is in it.
I googled “K-Love apostasy” and this page was the first result. I am “positively” dissatisfied with the current spiritual state of the church. I see this was written 8 years ago. Since then I imagine the quality of music on K-Love has positively gone down the Drano.
Musically, I cannot really tell the difference between it and most wordly music. It’s like someone took a Justin Beiber song and threw in “God loves you” and called it God-honoring, Christian music.
The thing that really just doesn’t add up for me also is the concept of a “Christian Rockstar” itself. Every true prophet or father of the faith faced violent persecution and rejection by the world. These “Christian” artists are increasingly accepted by the world and the one-world, anti-Christ Mohammedan-Vatican religion. Take for example, Lauren Daigle appearing on the Ellen show, and who, apparently thinks Jesus is her “boo”.
Friendship with the world is enmity with God. God doesn’t require talented, beautiful musicians, he requires and honest heart, a willingness to obey and reverant fear.
Hallelujah ! I love the passage that says” More like Fallen in love then believing in ! “,so true the lyrics are watered down shallow and candy coated !They have no value no deep meaning no substance just vain and empty words ! Sensual instead of sacrificial! It does not open the eyes or awaken or touch hearts that are broken and lost! That Jesus paid the price Christ’s precious blood ! We need to give the Lord glory! The king of glory! The old hymns songs from years ago “Amazing Grace” proclaiming who Jesus is and that God is love 1 John 4 How we are sinful wretches in desperate need of a savior ! Jesus’s beautiful sacrificial love ! Satan is the god of this world 2 Corinthians 4 :4 .Idolatry and lust and what feels good caught up in sensuality and false truths ! K Love should be ashamed they are responsible for there sinking sand of there over sentimentality and worldliness! We need to be there for the next generation! We need to wake up and stand on that rock ! Not rock out and tune out ! We need to be the salt and light and be separate from this world 2 Corinthians 6 :17 If we don’t hold onto Gods holy truth the anchor of our souls ! We will also be swept away and fall from grace ! Lord forgive us ! Bring the prodigals back from this world Repent ! In the name of Jesus every knee shall bow every tongue shall confess Jesus is Lord Philippians 2:10-11
I am believe the same as you. KLOVE can be encouraging to “newborn” Christians but as a long time believer the priniciples they encourage are extremely shallow. I never hear a hell, fire, and brimstone sermon. I rarely hear a message from the bible at all except some of their daily scriptures they read. The scriptures are not ever convicting scriptures. As a follower of Jesus, we should walk the way he walked. Call sin out as sin. Don’t hate the sinner, just the sin. The Bible tells us ” Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!” Isaiah 5:20. I don’t know about you all but I want to hear that convicting message. God tells us Satan walks around like a lion ready to devour our souls. I want to repent. I want to do all I can to earn my reward in heaven. AND I want other people to know that Satan is real and so is hell. Jesus was bold about his teachings not a coward or dusted it under the rug. LETS BE LIKE JESUS!!
I heard a radio preacher from the South appropriately call it K-Puke. I rather listen to nothing than to that garbage labeled as “Christian”. Fortunately where I live there is Hope-FM which is commercial free and Family Radio which is commercial free. I used to not be able to listen to FR when Harold Camping was preaching some error on last days doctrines, however, the station in all other ways is seriously biblical and if you like calm music that will minister to your spirit than that is the way to go. Hope-FM is great too, with mostly local pastors who teach more than preach, it is generally a rolling teaching of the word from Genesis to Revelation. Most are great, a few try to be too hip, the music is pretty good far as contemporary music goes.
God said to be aware of false prophets and doctrine. Which church has a $200k race car ? Where does the money come from to fund racing ?
My wife donated for a year. I received a phone call from KLove for renew and I said “not at this time”. I was asked “why not ?”. I mentioned the race car and how I did not feel comfortable towards it. He then asked me again if I would renew in which I replied “no thank you”….he hung up on me. Not a thank you for previously donating or anything.
The only thing KLove showed me is what God said about there will be false prophets and doctrine. We will be subject to it and to know the difference for the truth.
“Non-profit” are legal words used for tax purposes, and unfortunately to misguide people.
Your assessment of klove is spot on. I hate also when they sing in the 3rd person of GOD. Pretending to speak for GOD.
Salvation is Grace through Faith plus nothing! Repentance means to change your mind. NOT OF WORKS! You cannot lose your salvation either. Once you put your Faith in JESUS, you are SEALED by the HOLY SPIRIT OF PROMISE unto the day of REDEMPTION.
