Just when you think certain “Christian” publications cannot stoop any lower or reach a higher level of ignorance, they out do themselves!
Even though the The article on the Christian Post website contrasts the wrong attributes that Paris Hilton uses to select a new best friend with what the Bible says should be the criteria for a best friend, the article sadly makes the assumption that Young Christians watch this filth!
To me this is a strong testament to the lack of belief in the power of the Holy Spirit that is supposed to be resident in a Believers life to enable them turn away from such carnality.
What Christian Churches and ministires should be telling their congregations to do is throw their Television sets out the window!
But then that would make them very unpopular wouldnt it!
Television has become an accepted past time in a Christians life in most Churches.
Its part of the downgrade principle. You downgrade the Spiritual Strength of a Christians life by approving of the viewing of television as a general rule, and then you keep downgrading that standard as the carnality of television shows increase, instead of telling people to turn away from something that has become a destructive addiction in modern life.
Many ministries think they are doing a good work by using shows like this as an example to contrast with Biblical principles. But what they are blind to, is they have already defeated their purpose by assuming that television viewing is a normal part of a Christian’s life!.
The Christian Post has an article explaining to Christians “How to Share Their Faith Using Paris Hilton’s My New BFF” (that was not a typo)
“Paris Hilton’s My New BFF” is a reality T.V. show where contestants are competing to become Paris Hilton’s new best friend. The show includes A LOT of partying, gossiping, back stabbing and all the vanity, debauchery, immorality and shallowness that Paris Hilton’s life represents. But apparently Christians can help convert someone to Christianity using this show?!?
We have an idea, maybe the Christian Post should feature some articles on how to share your faith USING THE BIBLE!!!
I guess The Christian Post didnt see this article: Study: Unhappy people watch more TV
