Janice Crouse, a senior fellow with Concerned Women for America, says it’s disturbing that many young people in evangelical churches are experimenting with the Wiccan religion. Church leaders and Christian parents, she warns, must be ready to counter that growing interest among their youth.
Crouse cites an article in Religion Journal which said youth pastors in the Southern Baptist Convention were worried about large numbers of evangelicals taking part in Wicca, a religion that involves nature worship, stresses moral autonomy, and includes remedies and spells — beliefs that Crouse points out are distinctly different from orthodox Christianity, not to mention incompatible with the Bible.
“… Wiccans believe in moral autonomy — [that] ‘nobody can tell me what to do.’ And I think particularly with young people … that’s a very desirable thing; they don’t want the church telling them that there are boundaries, [that] there are things that they can’t do,” she explains. “Another one is that they don’t believe in having authorities beyond human constructs; that we as individuals have the responsibility to shape our own beliefs and there’s no evil beyond that.”
Crouse, who directs Concerned Women for America’s Beverly LaHaye Institute, says the interest in Wicca can be traced to recent books featuring witchcraft and similar topics.
“Some people think this goes back to the books that were so popular up until recently, and so many of the games and television programs that feature witchcraft and magic and fairy tales that have a dimension to it that if you just pull out some kind of spell you can make anything happen,” she says. “This has really become quite entrenched in many of the young people’s groups and in evangelicals in particular.”
According to Crouse, “earth worship” — as she describes Wicca — appeals to people who do not want to be bound by any book of authority or have imposed on them any requirements to be “believers.”

Satan uses Hollywood to separate your
children from God and plants the seeds of rebellion in their hearts, replacing
God with possessions and love of nature. Wicca fits right in. It offers a subjective
religious experience that is aided by Hollywood’s and your own invention.
Wicca is the religion of nature worship, of gods and goddesses, of spells and
incantations designed to bring influence upon circumstances and/or people.
Children who are sometimes lost in the transition between childhood
and adulthood, often do not know what direction to go to find truth and
meaning, but this does not stop them from trying. These children will seek
to identify with groups, music, causes, and philosophies.
It helps to give them purpose, meaning, and identity.
In addition Wicca is also a world religion based upon
ancient pagan belief of love of life and nature that allows them
to cater their beliefs and practices to their own desires. How satisfying!
Think about it. There is an attraction to the idea that you can construct a
religious system that suits your preferences and use that system to gain
control and influence. That is why many of the youth of today are joining up
with it. In 1998, the Chicago Tribune reported: “Neo-paganism is the
fastest-growing religion in North America with the Internet being the prime
means of proselytizing.” In 2001, the American Religious Identification
Survey (ARIS), conducted by the Graduate Center of the University of New
York, indicated seventeen-fold growth in the Wiccan community between
1990 and 2001—the highest of any faith group monitored. “This would
indicate a doubling in numbers of adherents about every 2.5 years.” Curott
estimates faster growth, suggesting “a doubling of size every 18 months.” If
either figure is accurate and if this trend continues, “Wicca [could] be the
third largest religious group in the U.S. by about 2012, behind Christianity
and Judaism. Wow talk about missing it! Witchcraft is going to be the third
largest religion in just 4 more years T.v. books and the internet are to blame.
parents need a wakeup call your own flesh and blood the children you love
and want to see in heaven are turning to a pagan worship. Parents eager to
appease children are aiding the spread of this religion by putting T.V. and
computers in children’s rooms and taking kids to movies like the golden compass or Harry potter and then buying the same books so they can
immerse themselves deeper in such fantasies. Many of these parents will
scoff at anyone who will try to tell them that Wicca is going to fill their
children with rebellion through shows such as these.
In fact, so pervasive is this appeal among the youth, that bookstores are now

I say it’s time for revival. Turn away from this false God Lev. 19:31, “Do not
turn to mediums or spiritists; do not seek them out to be defiled by them. I
am the Lord your God.” Lev. 19:26, ‘You shall not eat anything with the
blood, nor practice divination or soothsaying My father once said that the end of the world was set in motion when manupset the balance of nature and caused the extinction of the first species. He was saying that every creature has its purpose and that God had a purpose in creating all life like on a assembly line all the stations on the line rely on the different parts to make a complete finished work and if some of the stations stop supplying parts before long your sure to end up with too many of some parts and not enough of others, you can go on like this for a while but sooner or later if someone doesn’t get more parts or replace the missing operator the whole thing stops. In nature a prime example is seen when a species has no natural predator and with out its natural enemy it begins to over produce and out number its own prey and the hunt it till extinction and with out its natural prey will die and like dominos species after species disappear. Wicca has no outspoken enemy in America and its growth has been left unchecked and is being ether purposely, or unwittingly being used in T.V. movies, in books, schools and by politicians and if this problem isn’t addressed the Christian in America will be the next endangered species Wicca is something that parents and leaders need to address today nothing is more important than our children! Thanks” your brother in Christ Perry.
